Native to Asia, this tropical tree with glossy and persistent leaves reaches 20 meters high in the wild. The yellow flowers at maturity produce the best essential oil. Ylang-ylang provides an essential oil whose fragrance is universally appreciated for its warm, floral, exotic, round and feminine notes. It is hardly surprising that it is one of the essential oils that, through olfaction, can modify human behaviour.
